With a very sincere thank you to Cathy Ferguson and her assistants, George Ferguson, Brad Ferguson and Raye West, the Local 894 2007 Children’s Christmas Party was again a huge success, well attended and appreciated. This event gets a bigger attendance each year. The magic performed by magician Jason Chessar, a Local 894 member, was fascinating and the kids really enjoyed his performance. (as did parents and grand parents) Thanks again Cathy for a well organized event.

Brother Raye West was appointed to the vacant position on the Executive Board. The Executive Board sincerely thanks all the members who applied and offered their time to serve the membership of Local 894.

Members must have all their 2007 Union Dues paid in full before being issued an income tax receipt.
The Notice of Motion to amend the Local 894 Bylaws on monthly union dues was defeated. The Bylaw remains status quo.
All members of Local 894 who wish to work are employed. We have approximately 250 travelers in the area. Hiring at the Oshawa Courthouse remains slow as does the Ajax Hospital. The majority of the work in our area is presently at General Motors.
